The Fungadelic Offerings

Tinctures

The mushrooms we use (link to species & sourcing) have a plethora of benefits for your health, but most are known for a specific outcome. Lion’s mane, for example, is a great gut tonic and cancer preventer, but most people know it for its cognitive benefits. Our tinctures are blended with herb extracts to accentuate the known outcomes, providing you the desired effect along with a myriad of other health benefits.

An amazing way to incorporate mushrooms into your life is as food, and we recommend eating them regularly (especially as a meat substitute!). Unfortunately, most of the most beneficial fungi for our health cannot be digested! The cell walls of mushrooms are made of chitin, and some of the strong chitinous mushrooms (i.e. Reishi, Chaga) need to be processed to unlock their magic.

Dual Extraction Process

To unlock this magic, we use double-extraction using warm water and alcohol. The main beneficial compounds of mushrooms are either water soluble (beta-glucans) or alcohol soluble (triterpenes), so this provides the best of both worlds. For example: in Reishi, the triterpenes are mainly responsible for the anti-inflammatory and hormonal support, whereas the beta-glucans are responsible for overall immune modulation.

This is an important distinction from mushroom extract powders that you’ll find in the store, which primarily use hot-water extraction only. In the end it all depends on your desired outcome. Dual extraction is a great way to make sure you have all your bases covered.

Skin Care

An emerging field of mushroom application, and one of the most underutilized properties. Mushrooms are great for our skins, with traditional use of wound healing spanning multiple cultures around the world. We can capture these moisturizing, antibacterial, and UV protective properties for our modern needs:

  1. Tremella hydrating spray
  2. Mushroom infused sunscreen
  3. Birch polypore night time repair
